Canelones, Uruguay.
It has a marked influence from the Río de la Plata, one of the largest hydrographic basins in the world. Average annual temperature 17° C
Soil: Clayey silt with medium fertility and depth, with a subsoil rich in calcium carbonate. Middle hill with northeast exposure. The soils of Canelones are generated from sediments and have a high fertility, allowing an outstanding development of the vine stocks.
Pizzorno family fourth generation continues a family legacy of love and respect for nature that began over a century ago, without having lost a single element of this winemaking tradition. However, Carlos Pizzorno has incorporated modern techniques in vine cultivation and winemaking in an effort to maintain oenological excellence.
The 21 hectares of vineyards that surround the winery are inserted in soft slopes with permeable soils, of granulometry loamy, limestone, with little depth. In their vineyard, they respect the ecosystem and contribute to environmental conservation. They do not fertilize the soil and they rationalize water. Before the harvest, an intensive work of green pruning, grinding, and thinning of the bunches are done to obtain the best grapes, which is reflected in the quality of the wines, all elaborated with their own grapes.
