A Bold Expression of Freedom and Fire

Crafted in collaboration with the legendary Argentine chef Francis Mallmann, the Disobedience Red Blend 2021 is a tribute to his untamed spirit and passion for fire-cooked cuisine. This wine is more than just a blend—it’s a statement of boldness, adventure, and craftsmanship.

Tasting Notes

A deep ruby-red in the glass, Disobedience 2021 greets the nose with intense aromas of ripe blackberries, plums, and dark cherries, beautifully intertwined with hints of smoked spices, cocoa, and wild herbs. The palate is rich and layered, offering velvety tannins and a balanced acidity, leading to a long, elegant finish with a touch of oak and minerality.

Grape Composition

A carefully selected blend of Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah, sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Mendoza, Argentina. Each varietal contributes its unique character:

Malbec – Provides depth, dark fruit flavours, and a silky texture.

Cabernet Franc – Adds structure, herbal complexity, and a touch of spice.

Syrah – Enhances the blend with boldness, smokiness, and peppery notes.

Food Pairing

Designed to pair beautifully with open-flame grilled meats, rustic stews, and aged cheeses, Disobedience is the perfect companion for an asado feast or a quiet evening by the fire. Try it with ribeye steak, lamb chops, or smoked sausages to unlock its full potential.

The Story Behind the Wine

Inspired by Mallmann’s rebellious approach to life and cooking, this wine embodies his philosophy of freedom, simplicity, and embracing the wild. Just like his signature style of live-fire grilling, Disobedience is unrestrained, deeply expressive, and crafted to be enjoyed with good food, great company, and a touch of irreverence.

The Disobedience Red Blend is produced by Kaiken, an esteemed winery located in the Vistalba region of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina. The grapes for this blend are sourced from Kaiken's own vineyards in Altamira in the Uco Valley and Vistalba in Luján de Cuyo. The Vistalba vineyard boasts centenarian Malbec vines planted in 1910, contributing depth and character to the wine. The Altamira vineyard, situated at high altitude, imparts elegance and a fruit-driven profile to the blend.
