A Magical Celebration of Fine Argentine Wine at The Fumbally Stables

On October 27th, Dublin experienced a taste of Argentina like never before. Hosted by Criado Wines, the Fine Argentine Wine Tasting took place at the warm and inviting Fumbally Stables, bringing together more than 50 guests for an unforgettable evening of wine, food, and culture.

The event featured over 11 wineries and more than 50 labels, showcasing the diversity and richness of Argentina’s wine regions — from the cool southern valleys to the high-altitude vineyards of the north. Each wine told a story of origin, climate, and the craftsmanship behind the bottle.

A Journey Through Argentina’s Terroirs

Guests embarked on a sensory journey across Argentina’s vast geography. From a southernmost Pinot Noir, where vines are shielded from Patagonian winds by tall tree barriers, to a powerful Malbec from Salta, where extreme altitude compensates for latitude, each glass revealed the depth and versatility of Argentine winemaking.

The tasting lineup also included sparkling wines crafted by the traditional Champenoise method, refreshing rosés, and luscious sweet wines. French varietals like Semillón stood proudly beside Argentina’s national white, Torrontés, along with aromatic whites such as Gewürztraminer and Riesling — each one adding a new layer to this tapestry of flavours.

Gastronomy Meets Culture

To complement the wines, guests enjoyed an exquisite selection of Argentine-inspired bites — handmade empanadas, salmon and avocado tapas, beef tartare, Spanish tortilla, and other gourmet delights, followed by indulgent brownies with dulce de leche.

The atmosphere turned magical when a surprise tango performance lit up the room, followed by a soulful acoustic folk performance by Gustavo Eclesia, whose music beautifully captured the heart of Argentina.

An Evening to Remember

This event, hosted by Criado Wines, celebrated the artistry, diversity, and cultural richness of Argentina’s wines — and the shared joy of coming together over a glass. The incredible response and energy from the night confirmed one thing: with such success, this experience will surely be repeated next year.
