Some of the most exceptional wines offered at Criado Wines, are coming from the finest vineyards located at Gualtallary in Uco Valley, Lujan de Cuyo & Patagonia's new recent regions in the extreme south.

Pulenta Estate - Lujan de Cuyo & Uco Valley

The Pulenta Family has been linked to Argentine viticulture for four generations. The children of the winemaker Antonio Pulenta and descendants of Italian immigrants, Eduardo and Hugo Pulenta, gave birth to Pulenta Estate in 2002, bringing experience and the most skilled workforce.

The story of Pulenta dates back to 1902 when Angelo Polenta and his wife Palmina Spinssanti emigrated from Ancona in Italy to Argentina. Changing his name to Pulenta, Angelo bought his first plot of land in 1914 and built what would become a thriving family-owned business until 1997 when it was sold. In 2002, the 100 anniversary of the arrival of the family in Argentina, Angelo’s grandsons decided to found a new family winery to honour his memory and Pulenta Estate was born.

Today the winery is run by the third and fourth generations of the Pulenta family with 135 hectares of prime vineyards in the Alto Agrelo sub-region of Mendoza. The vines sit high altitude and are irrigated by melted snow from the Andes Mountains, producing perfect conditions for crafting intense and powerful red wines. Their Gran Malbec is made from an exceptional vineyard in Gualltaray which sits at 1300 metres above sea level and another in the Uco Valley at 1200 metres of altitude.

Otronia - Chubut, Patagonia

Bodega Otronia is located in the heart of Patagonia at the 45'33 parallel, probably the last southern frontier for growing vines.

The soil of lake origin, with clays, rocks of river origin, alluvial and wind sands, the permanent winds and the dry climate guarantee the production of disease-free organic grapes.

The cool climate of Sarmiento, Chubut, Patagonia, has a great influence on the character of the wines, acidity, purity and a distinctive aromatic profile.

50 hectares of organic vineyards at an altitude of 258 meters above sea level.

This wild and windy soils were planted in 2010 with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Torrontés, Riesling, Merlot and Malbec grapes.

Otronia 45 Rugientes Pinot Noir 2020

Origin: Sarmiento, Chubut, Argentina
Climate: One of the coldest and most remote vineyards in the world, where strong winds and extreme temperatures result in low yields and exceptional fruit purity.
Soil: A mix of limestone, clay, and gravel, adding depth and minerality to the wine.
Vinification: Aged in French oak barrels, carefully balancing fruit intensity with delicate complexity.

The Otronia 45 Rugientes Pinot Noir 2020 is a rare and extraordinary wine, crafted in one of the world’s most extreme winemaking regions. Sourced from Patagonia’s Chubut province, where the relentless “45th Roaring Winds” shape the terroir, this Pinot Noir embodies the purity, elegance, and intensity that only such a unique climate can create.

In the glass, this Pinot Noir reveals a brilliant ruby-red colour with delicate garnet hues. The nose is fresh and expressive, offering layers of wild strawberries, red cherries, and blackcurrants, intertwined with subtle notes of earth, dried herbs, and spice.

On the palate, it delivers impressive concentration and structure, with fine-grained tannins and a crisp, natural acidity that reflect the vineyard's extreme conditions. The finish is long and mineral-driven, leaving a lasting impression of Patagonian wilderness.

It was in Coquimbito, Maipú, in the province of Mendoza Argentina that he planted his first vines, further starting the Rutini Wines legacy. Don Felipe passed away in 1919, leaving his descendents in charge of the company. Continuing the excellence and tradition, the Rutini family began to develop further the production of fine white and red varietals such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec.
