THE DARK SIDE OF THE ANDES
Two Argentine wines named after the dark, made for Halloween night.
3 Bressia Piel Negra Pinot Noir 2021
Piel Negra means "black skin". A Burgundy-style Pinot Noir from Gualtallary, Uco Valley, 1,200 m above sea level. Red cherries, blackberries, rose petals and violets, with a refined texture. 10 months in 2,500-litre French oak vats.
3 Felipe Staiti Luz de Noche Malbec 2023
Luz de Noche means "night light". Named after the song by Enanitos Verdes, whose guitarist Felipe Staiti makes this wine with winemaker Marcelo Pelleriti. Picked at night and made without oak: cherry and raspberry, fresh and juicy.
Pairing ideas
Piel Negra with roast pumpkin, mushrooms or duck. Luz de Noche with chilli, pizza or a slow-cooked stew.
