AROMATIC, FRESH, MULTILAYERED MALBEC

An aromatic wine, with floral notes. On the first taste, it shows excellent freshness and balance. It is an expressive wine with multiple layers and personality. It is elegant and ethereal, with a strong grip from chalky tannins. The finish is long, fruity and pure.

  • 100% Malbec
  • Vintage: 2021
  • Vineyards: Paraje Altamira, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina.
  • Vivino Reviews: 4.5/5

Some Vivino reviews

"Woah awesome Malbec alert. Full bodied dark but not dangerous on the ABV. 13.9% Smokey bbq, charcoal and black fruit notes on the nose. Mouth of blueberry, plum jam and strawberries. Smoke, black olive and strawberry finish" .Morgan Isaac. UK.

"Vibrant, dynamic and expressive (TDK). Burst of ripe blackberries, plum, dark cherries, hint of violet and lavender evoking a walk through a blooming garden. Notes of black pepper and dark chocolate complement fruit-forward profile. Smooth texture, well-balanced acidity and versatile. Great for any dining occasion." PR, Costa Rica.

In 2010, they began working with Alan York on what he called "Holistic Agriculture," now called "Regenerative Agriculture", a vision of agriculture in which grapes and wine are not only the product of the vineyard, but also the product of an environment, an ecosystem. The power of the natural environment of the Andes and the strength of four centuries of viticulture in Mendoza make a difference in their wines.

Jardin de Hormigas is the estate in Paraje Altamira, Uco Valley. A simple glance at the vineyard, with its "organic" shapes, reveals that it was planted with a different concept: the idea of maximizing the connection between the vine and its natural environment through regenerative agriculture and deep knowledge of the place.

The vineyard plots follow the natural lines that delineate the different soil units, to keep the different soil types on the property separate. Only 60% of the land is planted with vines, and all plots are interspersed with native flora.

The style of their wines stands out from other Malbecs from Mendoza. Fluidity, texture, length in the mouth, energy, and aromatic range, are the threads that they look for and follow, the threads that show the origin and allow each vintage to renew the surprise and wonder of what the thousands of Terroirs of Mendoza can give.
